18 Varieties
Some places are connected in ways that are hard to explain. Cowhorn and Johan are two of them, sister properties, shaped by the same people, and a shared way of caring for what’s been entrusted to us.
This weekend, they come together here.
We’re welcoming Johan Vineyards to Cowhorn for a short moment of overlap, two estates, side by side, each offering its own expression of Oregon.
Cowhorn stays close to the Rhône, working in a focused range—Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, Spiral. wines that feel precise and grounded.
Johan, in the Van Duzer Corridor, moves more freely across 18 varieties—Pinot Noir and Chardonnay alongside Kerner, Melon de Bourgogne, Savagnin, Grüner Veltliner, Ribolla Gialla, Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and others—along with playful blends like Jazzy Juice and Disco Chicken.
Shared Stewardship
What ties them together is a way of working. Both estates are Demeter® certified Biodynamic®, farmed with attention and intention. At Johan, that work stretches further into regenerative farming, caring for the soil, encouraging biodiversity, and building something that lasts beyond a single season.
Come see us this weekend.
